Gone to the Dogs?

Beacon hosted a Dog Race Charity Night and BBQ, that was held South West Office recently.

It was good to see colleagues all come together to raise money for such a good cause whilst having a good time.   One of our colleagues wife has not been well and it was because of the heightened awareness around this subject we came up with this idea of a Charity event.  They decided they would like the monies raised to be donated to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham’s, VIP Treatment Charity, which is a Children’s Cancer Charity that looks after children who have to have radiotherapy.  The treatment is a scary experience for anybody, but it is especially frightening for children who are more used to the bright interiors of children’s hospitals.  The Charity makes the children feel special by presenting each of them with a Teddy Bear that they can keep with them throughout their treatment, and take home after their treatment is finished.  More details can be found on http://www.qehb.org/vip-treatment/

As a result of Beacon Staff's generosity we managed to raise £ 822.37 on the night, and the company agreed to match that sum, thus making a donation to QEHB of £ 1644.74.

Well done everyone, great work.
